Those who believed they could purchase tickets online and enter the stadium directly will not be allowed to do so. The reason is that there will not be any e-tickets for the upcoming World Cup.

To enter the stadium, spectators will need to present their tickets. Those who purchase tickets online must print them out and present them at the entrance gate.

At least seven to eight counters will be available at each center for the spectators to collect their printed tickets. There will be enough time given before the game starts to distribute the tickets properly. Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI), announced this information.

“We are unable to do electronic tickets this time. We would arrange for the redemption of tickets at different locations one week in advance. This would eliminate all hassles,” ANI cited him as saying.

It will be difficult to manage the e-tickets at venues with high capacity like Ahmedabad or Lucknow. We plan to use e-tickets in bilaterals and then expand to multi-national events such as the World Cup.

Shah talked about the discussions that are taking place between him and the majority of state associations. They have until 31 July to consider and decide the issue.

The BCCI and ICC are also expected to announce ticket prices in the near future. A ticket partner has also been chosen.

Shah also stressed that stadium infrastructure upgrades are important, with the key priorities being toilets, water, and housekeeping.

In order to address this issue, the BCCI partnered with Coca-Cola as the official ICC Partner to provide water for the fans. The water will come in glass or bottled form, and it will be free.

State associations were instructed to install signage in stadiums to improve the overall experience of fans. This will improve the overall match experience for fans.

The first match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will be played on 5 October at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, between defending champions England, and runner up New Zealand.
